1908-P $20 Saint Gaudens Gold Double Eagle With Motto PCGS MS64 Blazing luster, fresh to the market.

A very limited 156,258 were minted, many were melted down and never circulated. To find high grade with Motto Philadelphia Mint coinage is nearly impossible.

Created by master sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens, the 1908-P $20 Gold Saint Gaudens is the descendant of the $20 Liberty Double Eagle which first entered circulation in 1850. The denomination was created as a means of exhausting an overage in gold supply due to the 1849 California Gold Rush. They were never intended for general use in commerce as the amount easily equated to a month's wage during the time of issue - making them impractical to carry as a coin. Instead, they were struck to monetize the surplus of gold and to be used exclusively in business transactions, largely between banks.

Coin Highlights:

PCGS encapsulation offers protection and guarantees the beautiful MS-64 condition of the coin.

Conservatively graded in our opinion, has a better look than MS64 I’ve seen on the market. PQ++
